South Portland's Charlie Furbush was right in the middle of some testy feelings between the Seattle Mariners and Red Sox Saturday afternoon during the M's 7-3 win.

Furbush is a lefty specialist for Seattle and came into Saturday's game at the start of the sixth inning. He stuck out Brock Holt and Dustin Pedroia but then hit David Ortiz on the elbow with a 92 MPH fastball.

The next inning Sox pitcher Alex Wilson drilled M's star Robinson Cano in the butt. The umpires then issued warnings to both teams.

For Maine's Furbush, the appearance was his 53rd of the season. His ERA is 3.75, This is his fourth year in the bigs.

Furbush pitched for  South Portland HS and them pitched one year at St. Joseph's College before transferring to division one LSU.
