The NFL roster cut down day has claimed former UMaine Black Bear tight end Matt Mulligan. According to reports in Wisconsin, Mulligan was one of three tight ends released by the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay brought Mulligan in during the summer on a two year deal after he had been released by St.Louis. But Mulligan didn't get on the field much in pre-season because of an elbow injury.

The 28-year-old Mulligan is in an interesting story - PVHS has no football, he played basketball at Husson before trying football and had some success. He transferred to UMaine and became a pro prospect.

He has played for the NY Jets and the St.Louis Cardinals in his five year NFL time.

There are some reports in Green Bay that have Mulligan staying as a practice squad player.
