Welcome to baseball...Just when you think the Boston Red Sox can't be beaten an unknown lefty pitcher throws a no-hitter against the Sox. The first one against the Sox in 25 years.

Sean Manaea handcuffed the hottest hitting team in baseball all night as his Oakland A's shut down Boston 3-0. The Sox lose for just the third time this season (17-3).

Manaea could have been charged with a hit in the 5th inning when Sandy Leon hit a pop-up to short leftfield. SS Marcus Semien went out with his back to homeplate and the ball dropped off the end of his glove. It was ruled an error.

And then in the 6th, Andrew Benintendi hit an infield chopper, Manaea tried to reach and tag Benitendi running down the first base line but missed him and he was ruled safe at first. Umpires conferred and Benintendi was ruled out for running out of the baseline.

Though all of it, Manaea struck out 10, walked two and threw just 108 pitches.

Chris Sale was the tough luck loser.

The three game series concludes with a game today. Live coverage on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket begins at 3:20pm
