The Boston Celtics and Bruins capped off a successful sports day for the city as they followed the Patriots win by each getting a win of their own in the final seconds.

Jae Crowder hit the winning shot with just 3 seconds remaining to give the Celtics a 119-117 victory while Brad Marchand's goal with 47 seconds left gave the Bruins a 3-2 win over Toronto.

Crowders basket was his redemption after he was slapped with a technical foul just seconds earlier that allowed the Wizards to hit free throws and tie the game. After a timeout Marcus Smart threw a lob pass to Crowder who was able to push it off the glass for the winning basket.

John Wall then raced the length of the floor and missed a game tying layup at the buzzer.

Isaiah Thomas led Boston with 32 points while Crowder had 22 and 8 rebounds. The Celtics have won 3 straight and play at Dallas Monday. You can hear that game live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket at 8pm.

Stuck in an 11 game scoring slump Brad Marchand came through with 47 seconds left to give the Bruins a 3-2 win for their second win in as many games. The goal came after Marchand thought he had the game winner with 13 minutes left but the goal was waived off because of an offsides call.

Patrice Bergeron took care of the scoring early in the game by getting the first two goals, his 16th and 17th of the season. Tuukka Rask stopped 27 shots to get the win in goal.

Boston jumps up to the third place spot in the Atlantic division with the win, just 6 points behind first place Florida. The Bruins will now get set to face the Canadiens for the final time this season when they play in Montreal on Tuesday.
