Former Mt. Ararat HS star pitcher Mark Rogers is struggling in the Milwaukee Brewers spring training camp...and no one is quite sure why.

Rogers was the #5 overall pick in the MLB draft out of high school but has been saddled with a bunch of injuries over the years. He is now 27-years-old and coming off a great September with Milwaukee last season, he was hoping to join the rotation full time this year.

Not going to happen says Brewers manager Ron Roenicke.

Rogers has pitched three times this spring for a total of six innings (7.50 ERA, eight hits, 10 walks). His lack of command and a drop off in velocity has everyone baffled.

Adding to the issue is the fact that Rogers is out of minor-league options so he would need to clear waivers in order to start the year in Milwaukee farm system. The Brewers know another club is likely to claim him.

My best guess is he'll be put on the DL to start the season.
