Mackenzie Hanna of MDI High School has won our McDonald’s High School Athlete of the Week with 38-percent of the total vote over Chase Carmichael of Bucksport High School, Ryan Fredette of Winslow High School, Dominic Libbey of Mattanawcook Academy, and Jaden Talbot of Washington Academy.

The MDI girls’ volleyball team picked up two wins last week and were led by strong matches from Hanna.  The senior had nine aces, eight kills, and 14 assists in the 3-0 victory over Machias, while also notching 10 aces, nine kills, and 14 assists in a 3-1 win versus Cony.  The Trojans are 6-2 on the year and sit in fourth place in the Class B standings.

Hanna took home the vote with almost 900 submissions this past week.
