MDI’s Lee Wins Athlete Of The Week

Mount Desert Island High School junior Colby Lee has won the High School Athlete of the Week with two-thirds of the total vote over Jackson Coutts of Orono and Kylie Nelson of Belfast.

Lee helped guide the Trojans to a 31-7 victory over Old Town in the final game of the regular season last week.  Lee had 187 yards rushing on 12 carries and added two touchdowns.  He has helped the MDI team to a 7-1 record and the #1 seed in Class C North.  The Trojans await their opponent in the semi-finals for the region next week.

The junior won the award this week, which totaled almost 900 votes in all between the trio of nominees.
