On Paper it was a game the Boston Celtics should win, however the New York Knicks didn't read that paper and snapped their 10-game losing streak with a 101-95 win.Carmelo Anthony put all the rumors of him asking for a trade during the week behind him and led the Knicks with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. Amar'e Stoudamire added 20 points and 7 boards to help New York earn their 5th win of the season.

Jeff Green led the Celtics in scoring for the fourth straight game with a 28 point effort. Green didn't get any help from Boston's other top players as Jared Sullinger was held scoreless and Rajon Rondo only contributed 2 points. The Celtics also played without Avery Bradley who was scratched due to illness and Marcus Smart who left in the second quarter with an Achillies tendon injury.
