Former Messalonskee HS and University of Southern Maine standout Sam Dexter is living the dream - in Great Falls, Montana. A pro baseball player with the Chicago White Sox Pioneer League rookie league team.

Dexter was drafted in the 23rd round by the White Sox on June 11th. The next day he was on a plane headed for Arizona and the team's rookie camp.

Now he's seven games into the season as a shortstop for the Great Falls Voyagers.

Dexter has played in five of the first seven games. He's hitting .211(4-for-19) with a double and RBI. The team has a 4-3 record.

Dexter is coming off an All-American season with USM where he holds several school records, including most career hits. In his junior year, Dexter was named Division III National Player of the Year.
