Maine Maritime Academy's ground game chewed up 347 yards and five touchdowns in Castine Saturday afternoon. The Mariners topped Holland College from Prince Edward Island, Canada 34-9 in a season opener exhibition game.

Jake Doolan(Lawrence HS) rushed for 147 and two TDs for MMA.

Joe Dibiase(South Portland HS) had 92 yards and two TDs for the Mariners.

QB Michael Fahey(Union CT.) for 62 yards and the other MMA TD.

MMA will play at Anna Maria College in Massachusetts next Saturday in their first countable game.

NOTE:  At halftime, MMA's former longtime athletic director was honored with the naming of the NEFC Championship Trophy(New England Football Conference). It will now be called the Bill Mottola Trophy. MMA is a charter member of the NEFC.
