Former UMaine hockey captain Jim Montgomery and his UDenver Pioneers one week stay at the top of the national polls is over, for now. Minnesota-Duluth takes over the #1 spot this week in the USCHO poll.

After gaining the #1 spot last week, Montgomery's team tied two games with Miami(Ohio) over the weekend..

The one week stay at the top was the first #1 ranking for the Pioneers since March of 2010.

Montgomery is UMaine's career scoring leader and helped the Black Bears to a national title in 1993. He is in his fourth season as head coach in Denver.
