Drew Pomeranz is a 15 game winner and Mookie Betts showed why he is such a multi-talented player as the Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays last night 9-3.

The win, coupled with a Yankee loss in Texas gives Boston a 4.5 game lead in the AL East.

Pomeranz worked a solid six innings, giving up just two runs and just two hits. He walked two and struck out seven. Pomeranz is 15-5 with a 3.35 ERA.

Meanwhile, Mookie Betts hit a first inning three-run home run off the Pesky Pole in rightfield. He made a spectacular running catch in rightfield as well.

Every Sox starter had at least one hit except Xander Bogaerts.

With a record of 80-61, the Sox send Chris Sale to the mound today.

The Sox magic number to clinch the AL East is now 18 (Any combination of Sox wins and Yankee losses).
