Ask the experts at Baseball Prospectus and they will tell you Blake Swihart is the top catching prospect in the game. And, outfielder Mookie Betts is the Red Sox most valuable position player.

No wonder the Sox have refused to trade these two youngsters.

Swihart is listed at #17 on the Baseball Prospectus Top 101. That's the highest ranked catcher and the top ranked Sox system player.

Betts is projected to have a 3.6 WAR (wins above replacement player) and that tops on the Sox team.

WAR is an attempt to factor in many stats to determine a player's value.

Swihart will be in spring training later this month and he is expected to start the season at Triple A Pawtucket.

Betts will be given every opportunity to win an outfield job.

Sox pitchers and catchers report to Ft. Myers February 20th.
