As high schools across the state scramble to get basketball games played in this final week of the regular season, the MPA has issued a new directive that allows schools to play makeup games on Saturday - as a last resort.

Snowstorms have wreaked havoc with schedules. The MPA had moved the end of season date from Thursday to Friday.

Now the MPA says if two teams cannot find a common open date before Saturday, they will be allowed to play the game on Saturday - with a 5:30pm deadline for completion.

Tournament play-in games are scheduled to begin next week.
