The Husson Eagles softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to get a come-from-behind 3-2 over New England College in the opening round of the NAC Tournament.

The top-seeded Eagles are hosting the 4-team double elimination tourney at O'Keefe Field in the Husson campus.

The win puts the Eagles at 28-11, two wins away from a conference title and most importantly the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Trailing 2-1 in the 6th, Husson loaded the bases with one out. A NEC wild pitch allowed the game tying run to score. Then with two outs, Bri Brochu got an infield hit to drive in the go ahead run. Brochu went 4-for-4 with the RBI.

Jen Jones got the win in the circle, coming on in relief to pitch four shutout inning, allowing one hit and striking out six.
