For the 7th straight season the Husson University softball team plays in the NCAA regionals when they square off against Eastern Connecticut State today at 1pm.This will be the second meeting this season between the Eagles and Warriors as they played early in the season down in Florida with Husson falling by a 1-0 score. This will also be the third time they have played each other in the regionals with the Warriors winning those meetings in 2010 and 2011.

Husson has posted a record of 2-14 in their 7 trips to the regionals with 1 win coming in each of the last 2 years.

North Atlantic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Year Kayla Merrill will lead the Eagles with a 15-4 record in the pitching circle with an ERA of 1.38. At the plate she is sporting an average of .437 with 3 homeruns and 18 rbi.

Wheaton College is the hosting the tournament, Husson beat the Lyons 9-3 earlier this season. Wheaton will take on Johnson & Wales in the second game of the day.
