NE Senior Golf Day One
Maine is the host site for this week's New England Seniors Golf Tournament and after the first round the top three spots are held by Connecticut players. The last Maine player to win it, Mark Plummer(2007), struggled shooting an 80 (+10).
Bill Torza leads the way after firing an even par 70 at the Portland CC in Falmouth. Fellow Connecticut golfer Bill Hermanson is just one shot back at 71.
The top Mainer is Augusta CC player Tom Bean. He shot a a 5-over 75 and that puts him in a tie for 16th place.
Plummer never got it going in round one. He had 7 bogeys and 2 double-bogeys.
