Nelson Is New Bangor Girls Hoops Coach

Longtime Bangor High School assistant coach Joe Nelson has been named the new girls basketball head coach of the Rams. He replaces Joe Johnson who stepped down last month after three seasons.

Johnson will remain Bangor girls varsity soccer coach.

For Nelson, he takes over the basketball program having been an assistant coach under Johnson for the past three years.

He was an assistant boys basketball coach at Bangor under Roger Reed for 17 years.

The Bangor girls team went 8-10 in Class AA North last season and lost in the semi-final round of the playoffs.
