New Junior Hockey Team Announces Name

The upcoming junior hockey league team coming to Auburn has a new nickname and color scheme that was announced on Friday morning.

The new hockey team under the Maine Hockey Management LLC umbrella will be named the Twin City Thunder during their inaugural season beginning in the fall of 2018.  The color scheme will feature green, white, and black.

The Thunder will be a part of the United States Premier Hockey League and be part of the Premier North division, joining teams from Syracuse, New Hampshire, Boston, Springfield, and Rochester.  The team will play their games in the Norway Savings Bank Arena starting next season.
