Probably it's because Carolina does not play the New England Patriots for the next 2 seasons that Cam Newton felt safe using Tom Brady's name as he made a deflategate joke. Whatever the reason Newton decided to make the joke on the eve of NFL hearing Brady's appeal.Newton was on the field throwing some passes prior the 7-on-7 national championship game when he got a ball that felt a little underinflated and said, "is this Tom Brady's?" before throwing it to the side.

Someone might want to remind Newton that he works for Brady. Newton has an endorsement deal with Under Armour and Brady owns equity in the company. If he's not careful the Panthers quarterback might need to find a new pair of shoes to wear in the near future.
