NFL Scouts Will Look At UMaine Talent
It's pro day for UMaine football. This is the day NFL scouts come to Orono and put draft eligible Black Bear players through workouts. The players hope they can show enough talent to either get drafted or at least get a free agent tryout with NFL teams.
Cornerback Kendall James is one Black Bear to watch. The 5-10 180 pound CB put on a good show at the NFL combine and according to The Sports Network he is one of 25 FCS players to watch.
James had 36 tackles, 2 interceptions and 9 breakups last year for the Bears.
Other UMaine players scouts will take a look at include Marcus Wasilewski, Michael Cole and Justin Perillo.
Every year between 15 and 20 FCS players from around the country get drafted. Last year 19 players were picked.
After the NFL draft, clubs then start inviting players to their training camps.
