Just 24 hours after 60 players were selected in the NBA Draft, the National Hockey League (NHL) will have its own tonight at 7 p.m.

The NHL Draft will start tonight shortly after 7 p.m. with the Toronto Maple Leafs holding the first pick.  Center Auston Matthews is said to be the likely first overall selection tonight, while the Boston Bruins have two scheduled picks at 14th and 29th.

The biggest intrigue heading into the first round tonight is the possibility of teams trading stars to acquire picks for the weekend.  Ben Bishop, PK Subban, Kevin Shattenkirk, and Cam Fowler have all been linked to trade reports.

The Boston Bruins met with the representation of Loui Eriksson on Friday to discuss resigning the forward.  Eriksson will become a free agent if a deal is unable to be reached by the two sides.

The first round of the 2016 NHL Draft will get underway at 7 p.m. with rounds 2-7 occurring on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
