Oceanside running back Michael Norton Jr ran for five touchdowns and 267 yards in a 40-33 victory for the Mariners over the Hermon Hawks in the quarterfinals of Class C North.

Norton scored five of the six touchdowns for Oceanside and had scoring runs on 17, 78, 23, 54, and 39 yard gains in the contest.  Ben Ripley also logged a score in the contest for Oceanside with 38 yards gained total on the ground as well.

Hermon QB Garrett Trask led the Hawks' offense with 164 yards on the ground with two rushing touchdowns.  He also completed eight passes for 139 yards and two passing touchdowns.  Jordan Bishop had 82 yards on 16 rushes.

The teams alternated scores in the first with the Hawks getting on the board first, 4:21 into the contest with a River Mullen 1-yard TD run.  Norton would answer back less than two minutes after with his first score of five.  The score went into the halftime break with a Hermon advantage of 20-12 with a Trask rushing TD and a passing score to Keith Pomeroy, while Norton also scored again on a 78-yard run.

Oceanside would outscore Hermon 28-13 in the second half to pick up the win and advance to the semifinals in Class C North.  The Mariners moved to 6-3 on the season while Hermon fell to 6-3, losing their first ever playoff game in program history.

The Mariners will head to MDI to face the Trojans next week for the right to play in the Northern Maine final in two weeks.
