For the Boston Red Sox it could not have gone any worse. Injuries, a poor outing from Chris Sale and in the end, an 8-2 loss to the Astros in Game one of the ALDS.

The downpour of negativity began with the second batter of the game - Eduardo Nunez collapsed trying to run to first base. He was carried off the field with a clear injury to an already injured knee.

Then there's Chris Sale - his first postseason start was not good. Five-plus innings, seven runs, nine hits and a walk.

The biggest pest for the Sox was the smallest Astro - Jose Altuve with three home runs. Alex Bregman also hit a homer for Houston.

Mookie Betts, Hanley Ramirez and Sandy Leon led the Sox with two hits each.

Game two of the best-of-five series is Friday afternoon at 2pm.
