The New York Islanders selected Oliver Wahlstrom, the son of former UMaine player Joakim Wahlstrom, with the 11th pick in the NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old Wahlstrom played for the USA Development Team last season and is planning of attending Boston College in the fall.

He set the hockey world abuzz as a 9-year-old with his trick shots during NESN one-on-one competition. The trick shot video went viral.

Wahlstrom also verbally committed to play for UMaine when he was 13.

He is viewed by scouts as having great goal scoring skills.
