It's beginning to sound familiar - a slow start for the Boston Bruins puts them in a hole. They battle back but come up short.

The same storyline at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night when the Rangers beat the B's 4-2.

NY scored three times in the first period and the Bruins never could get closer than one goal.

Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves for the Rangers, Tuukka Rask made 29.

Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak had the B's goals but they continue to play without the injured Brad Marchand, David Krejci, David Backes and others.

Boston now 6-5-3, New York is 8-7-2.

Next for the Bruins, a home and home two game series with Toronto starting Friday night.
