NYIsles GM Snow Makes Draft Day Moves

Incoming freshman Blaine Byron will be a UMaine Black Bear in the fall but when it is time to turn pro the Pittsburgh Penquins will own his rights. The Pens selected Byron with their 6th round pick (3179 overall).

Byron was the only Black Bear drafted. The Hockey East Conference had 9 players drafted with Boston College leading the way with three draftees.

Garth Snow (photo above) posed with the NY Islanders #1 pick, defenseman Ryan Pulock. Snow is a former UMaine Black Bear goalie. NYIsles head coach is former UMaine defenseman Jack Capuano.
