Former UMaine Black Bear and now Detroit Red Wing Gustav Nyquist may be a late add-on to Team Sweden's Olympic hockey team. Nyquist's Detroit teammate Johan Franzen will not go to Sochi because of concussion issues and according to the Detroit Free Press Nyquist is under strong consideration to replace him.

The former UMaine star has 9 goals and 8 assists in 28 games with the Wings. He is considered a highly skilled forward which is valued by Swedish Olympic officials.

There are five other Detroit Red Wing players on the Team Sweden roster.

Jimmy Howard, Detroit's goalie and another former Black Bear, is on the Team USA roster. He will start for the Wings tonight - his first game back since a second knee injury two weeks ago.
