Offense Still Missing, Bears Lose To Wildcats
In an effort to jump start an unproductive offense Drew Belcher started at quarterback for Maine at Villanova. Unfortunately for the Bears the results were the same in a 13-3 loss.Belcher got his first start of the season replacing Dan Collins but the change did nothing to help Maine's in the scoring department. He connected on 16 of 29 passes for 180 yards and also threw an interception.
The running game which has also been a problem this season rolled up 177 yards with Belcher leading the way with 101 of those yards.
Maine also had issues with the kicking game as Sean Decloux missed 2 of his 3 field goal attempts and punter James DeMartini turned the ball over when his knee hit the ground while fielding a low snap.
The Bears drop to 3-2 in the CAA and 3-5 overall. They return to Alfond Stadium Saturday for a 7pm kickoff against Towson.
