The Old Town-Orono Black Bears scored three times in the first seven minutes of the game and went on to beat Presque Isle 6-1 to claim the Class B North Region championship.

It is the first title since the two programs combined five year ago. The Black Bears will face Greely High School in the state championship game Saturday afternoon in Lewiston. The Rangers won the South Region, beating Cape Elizabeth 3-2.

Tanner Evans scored the first Old Town-Orono goal just 1:08 into the game. Josh Wheeler added a powerplay goal less than two minutes later. And then Sam Henderson scored a shorthanded goal to give the Black Bears a 3-0 lead after one period.

Old Town-Orono would score six goals before the Wildcats finally lit the lamp with 11 minutes left in the game.

Junior goalie Kohle Parker was outstanding in net for the Black Bears.

The Bears improve to 19-1. Presque Isle finishes their season at 14-7.
