The Old Town and Orono boy's basketball rivalry is renewed once more again tonight as the Red Riots host the Coyotes from Orono.

This is the first meeting between the crosstown rivals since the Class B North semifinals which saw the Red Riots upset the Coyotes to earn a berth in the regional final.

Old Town posted a 15-3 overall record a year ago, but lost 10 players to graduation from that squad.  The Coyotes are 4-8 on the 2016-17 season and are coming off a 50-39 loss to Central last night.  The four wins for Old Town have come by beating Mattanawcook (twice), Caribou, and John Bapst.  They are currently in 15th place in Class B North.

Orono is 9-3 on the season and returns all but three players from last seasons' Class B North second place finish.  The Red Riots are on a three game winning streak and have lost to only Hermon (twice) and Central this season.  The match-up in Orono will also mark the end of a three-game home-stand and a stretch of eight of the past nine games being played at home for the Red Riots.  They are currently in fourth place in the Class B standings.

*- Live coverage of the contest between Orono and Old Town will get underway at 7 p.m. this evening on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket and 929TheTicket.com
