Opening Night Is Here

Tip it up...drop the puck...It's opening night for the high school winter season. Our feature matchup on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket is the Hampden vs Brewer boys/girls doubleheader at the new Cross Insurance Center.

Brewer is using the new arena as their home court this season while work continues on the Brewer HS building.

Hampden is coming off a magical 18-0 regular season and a tournament run that ended with a state title. The Broncos return three starters plus sixth man Matt Martin and Isaiah Bess is a big addition to the lineup. He played for Penquis HS last year.

The Bangor girls open defense of their Eastern Maine title with a home game against Lewiston. The Rams captured their first title in three decades last season.

On the high school hockey scene, Bangor hosts Messalonskee at 6:30PM. Many of the other local hockey teams start play on Saturday.
