The Foxcroft Ponies opened up defense of their Class C state title with a road win over the Hermon Hawks 50-13. Foxcroft was playing without starting quarterback Hunter Law and starting wide receiver Hunter Smith who were both out with concussions. That left the bulk of the work to running back Peter Boyer who rushed for 211 yards on 18 carries and four touchdowns. He also returned a punt 54 yards for another score. Boyer's fullback Corey Bjornson ran for 149 yards and two touchdowns. On defense led the team n tackles while forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble.

Hermon was led by David Shepardson who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Josh Wilson had the other score on a 1 yard keeper. The Hawks are entering just their third season of high school football, and the first year they are eligible for the playoffs.
