Orono and Presque Isle were both riding long winning streaks heading into Saturday's quarterfinal match-up at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. One of them had to end.

The No. 4 Red Riots and No. 5 Wildcats had nine-game and eight-game streaks, respectively. But when the buzzer sounded, Orono came away with its tenth straight victory, a 54-46 win over a tough Presque Isle team.

Senior guard Nate Desisto led the Red Riots with 23 points. Jake Koffman added 12 points.

Orono improves to 16-3 with the win. Presque Isle finishes the season at 14-6.

Griffin Guerrette led the Wildcats with 16 points. Jason Dumais had 14 points.

Orono will face the winner of Hermon and Washington Academy in the semifinal round.
