David Ortiz knocked in half of the runs in the Red Sox 12-5 win over Minnesota. It is the fourth time in his career that he has had at least six RBI in a game -first time since 2008.

Ortiz now has 7 home runs and 29 RBI in 24 games. He is hitting .362.

The down side of the Saturday night Sox win - Ryan Dempster was allowed to throw 127 pitches in 4 2/3 innings. That is the most pitches thrown by a starter in MLB who didn't make it through five innings since Carlos Zambrano in 2004.  Ouch!
