Former UMaine goalie Ben Bishop was part of the NHL trade deadline frenzy. The Ottawa Senators traded Bishop to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for rookie winger Cory Conacher and a draft pick.

Bishop was seen as a trading chip for Ottawa because they have three quality goalies.  Bishop, who stands 6-7 tall,  had an 8-5 record and a 2.45 GAA for the Senators.

In Tampa Bay, Bishop will join another former UMaine player Teddy Purcell.

The LIghtning are out of the playoff picture.
