Former Seadog Mookie Betts and current Seadogs ace Henry Owens have been selected to play in the upcoming All Star Futures Game during MLB All Star weekend in Minneapolis.

Baseball officials select the best of the best minor league prospects to play in the game. Clay Buchholz, Junichi Tazawa and Will Middlebrooks are other former Seadogs to play in the Futures Game.

Betts is now with triple-A Pawtucket, his numbers combined with Portland are .346,  8 home runs, 47 RBI and 28 steals.

Owens is dominating in the Eastern League, an ERA of 1.99 and a 9-3 record with 89 strikeouts in 86 innings.
