Red Sox rookie Henry Owens got welcomed to the league in his debut as he took the loss to the New York Yankees who crushed Boston 13-3 in the opener of their 3-game series.Ownes struggled with command early before settling in. However he would eventually allow 3 runs on 5 hits and suffer the loss. His fellow pitchers out of the bullpen were much worse as they allowed another 10 runs on 8 hits and 4 walks.

Brian McCann launched a 3-run homer as part of a 9 run 7th inning. Chris Young had a productive night with 3 hits and 3 rbi while Mark Teixeira drove in two of his own.

Steven Wright will take the mound tonight and try to keep the Yankee hitters in check as New York has the second highest scoring offense in the Major League.
