Courtesy: Portland Seadogs/Mookie Betts

Patriots RB Shane Vereen throws the ceremonial pitch and Red Sox top prospect Henry Owens throws the first real pitch tonight at Hadlock Field in Portland. The first place Seadogs(19-11) take on Toronto’s double-A team New Hampshire Fisher Cats(14-17).

Seadogs second baseball Mookie Betts brings his 59-game on-base streak back to Portland. He’s hitting .402 with 5 home runs and 18 RBI.

On this night of the 2014 NFL draft, Shane Vereen makes an autograph appearance at Hadlock. Vereen was a 2nd round pick of the New England Patriots in 2011.

Henry Owens will make his 7th start of the season. He is 3-2 with a 3.89 ERA. Owens is considered the Red Sox top minor league prospect.
