The pupil beat the teacher in Sunday Night NFL football. Matt Patricia beat Bill Belichick 26-10 as Detroit Lions beat up the Patriots in most every aspect of the game.

Kerryon Johnson and former Patriot LeGarrette Blount rushed for 159 yards. Johnson became the first 100-yard yard in 70 games for the Lions.

QB Matt Stafford threw for 252 yards.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady threw for just 133 yards (14-for-26).

Rob Gronkowski was the leading receiver with four catches. Wide receivers caught a total of just six passes.

The Lions had the ball for almost 40 of the 60 minutes of the game.

It's the Lions first win. The Patriots drop to 1-2 and face Miami next.
