The New England Patriots did not make a first round pick on the opening night of the NFL draft.Rather than make a selection at number 29 the Pats received a trade offer they couldn't refuse from the Vikings. New England gave Minnesota their 1st pick in exchange for the Vikings picks in the second, third, fourth and seventh round. The trade nearly doubles their picks from five to eight.
