Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola intends to leave New England and sign with the Miami Dolphins, a source told ESPN.

Amendola will reportedly sign a two-year, $12 million deal with $8.25 million in guaranteed money.

The 32-year-old Amendola had accepted a pay cut to remain with the Patriots in each of the past three offseasons.

Amendola took on an expanded role in 2017 after Julian Edelman tore his ACL in the preseason and Chris Hogan suffered a shoulder injury in week 8 that caused him to miss seven games.

Amendola had 61 catches, 659 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the regular season. Known as a clutch performer, Amendola added 26 catches for 348 yards and two touchdowns in the playoffs.

The Patriots have Brandin Cooks, Edelman, Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Malcolm Mitchell, Kenny Britt, Cody Hollister and Riley McCarron under contract at the wide receiver position in 2018.
