The Patriots find themselves in an interesting position as they play the Jets in New York today. Should they rest players while trying to get the number 1 seed?

New England will be playing without injured players Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung who did not make the trip. Dont'a Hightower and Brandon LaFell did go with the team to New York despite dealing with injuries of their own.

The Playoff scenario is simple for the Pats, get a win today and lock up the number one seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. It would mark the 6th time they would stake claim to the top spot in the conference having accomplished it in 2003, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2014.

This will be the 114th meeting between the two teams and New England will be going for their 17th season sweep. The Pats won the first meeting of the season back in October 30-23. They lead the all-time series 59-53-1 and quarterback Tom Brady is 21-5 in his career against the Jets in the regular season.
