When the New England Patriots play the Washington Redskins today at Gillette Stadium they will try to stay undefeated and join the Bengals who earlier this week made it to the 8-0 mark.

The numbers suggest the odds are in the Patriots favor when you consider their recent success against teams from the NFC. Since realignment in 2002 the Pats are 43-10 against teams from that conference which is best in the NFL. A win today would also guarantee the team would finish at least .500 which would extend their streak to 15 seasons they have accomplished that.

On the injury front their is both good news and bad news for the Pats as the team has placed offensive lineman Ryan Wendell on the season ending IR with a knee injury. Linebacker Jamie Collins is listed a questionable for today's game because of illness. The good news is that lineman Bryan Stork has been activated from the short-term PUP list and could see action today if needed.
