Patriots Win, Suffer Injuries [VIDEO]
It wasn't the run away many had predicted but the good news for the Patriots is they beat Washington 27-10. The bad news is they sustained more injuries in the process.
Dion Lewis left the game in the second half with a knee injury he suffered while trying to make a cut on a pass play and did not return. Offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer also left the game which caused the Pats to use tight end Michael Williams on the line. New England only had 6 lineman on the roster to begin the game including Bryan Stork who was activated Saturday after missing the first half of the season.
The Pats got off to a quick start scoring on their first possession on an 8 yard pass to Julian Edelman. That was followed by a 5 yard run by LeGarrette on their third possession to make it 14-0 with 4:33 to play in the first quarter. The offense never sustained momentum after that and got their final touchdown late in the fourth quarter on an 18 yard pass form Tom Brady to Brandon Bolden who took the spot of Lewis.
Brady still finished with 299 passing yards and threw an interception to go along with those two touchdowns. Brandon LaFell was the leading receiver catching 5 passes for 105 yards. Blount took care of the ground attack with 129 yards, his most productive game of the season.
New England will go on the road next week for a game in New York against the Giants.
