Christmas came early for the New England Patriots. A 24-12 win over Buffalo and minutes after that result the Philadelphia Eagles kicked a last second field goal to beat the Houston Texans.

For the (10-5) Patriots, it means a #2 seed and a bye week, as long as they beat the Jets in the season finale next week.

It also means a 10th straight AFC East Division title.

The Pats won this game because of the run game - 47 carries and 273 yards.

Brady never seemed to get the passing game in gear. His numbers, 13-for-24, 126 yards, one TD and two interceptions.

Julien Edelman was the top receiver with six catches for 70 yards and a TD.

The Pats defense held Buffalo to just 289 total yards.

The Patriots finish the regular season hosting the Jets next Sunday at 1pm. They now control their own destiny in earning the second seed in the AFC and there is still a chance they could get the top seed with a Kansas City slip up.
