The New England Patriots continued their busy off-season by acquiring former Cincinnati Bengals running back Rex Burkhead to a contract.

The back out of Nebraska was selected as the 190 pick overall in the 2013 draft and has played in parts of four seasons with the Bengals since 2013.  Last year he was active for all 16 games and added 344 yards and two touchdowns on 74 rushes.  In his final game of 2016 however, he logged 119 yards and had two scores.

The signing of Burkhead also likely spells the end of the line for Brandon Bolden with New England, as the Pats have James White and Dion Lewis still on the roster.
