Setting aside all the pomp and circumstance, tonight's Patriots vs Chiefs NFL season opener should be a good football game.

Keep in mind, these two teams meet in the AFC divisional round of the playoffs back in January. The Pats won 27-20. That's after a regular season where the Patriots went 14-2 and the Chiefs went 12-4.

Tonight's game marks the first regular season matchup since that Monday NIght Football game back in 2014 when Kansas City pounded the Pats 41-14.

But if you look to the history of the Patriots  on opening night after Super Bowl wins - they are 4-0.

NOTE:  Live coverage of the game begins at 5:30pm today with the pregame show. Kickoff is about 8:30pm.
