The New England Patriots are going to sign running back Steven Jackson afterall. According to ESPN reports, he'll sign a one-year deal today.

The team worked out Jackson last week but it appeared there would be no deal.

The Pats used Brandon Bolden, James White and Joey Iosefa in yesterday's win over Tennessee.

The 6-foot-3 229 pound Jackson has been out of football all year after spending two years with the Atlanta Falcons. The 32-year-old spent most of his career with St.Louis. He has rushed for over 11,000 yards in his career.

The Patriots are short on running backs because of injuries to LeGarrett Blount and Dion Lewis.
