So much for the win streak :( The Boston Red Sox fell to the Houston Astros, Saturday, July 12 by the score of 3-2.

Jake Peavy, in what might have been his last start with the Boston Red Sox before being traded, was solid, going 7 innings, giving up 3 earned runs, allowing 6 hits, walking 1 and striking out 9. Peavy's record falls to 1-8 on the season.

David Ortiz hit his 20th home run in the 4th inning. The Red Sox had a chance in the 9th inning when Mookie Betts and Holt hit one-out singles to put runners on base with Pedroia and David Ortiz next in the lineup. Pedroia grounded into a double play on a call that was challenged and confirmed to end the game. The Red Sox are now 42-52 and 9.5 games out of 1st place.

The two teams finish the series this afternoon, before going on the All-Star Break.
